We are a charity that uses creativity to support young people, especially with their mental well being. All the young people are referred to us and many have multiple needs. We use art, music and drama to help young people find opportunities to express themselves... In these groups they grow in confidence, finding themselves in a non-judgemental supportive space. We encourage leadership, and sessions are developed around broad themes that allow for spontaneity...
I have worked for over 15 years at Ark-T as a Senior Arts Practitioner and had the opportunity to work with Leone while she was in England. Leone was a joy to work with... The work we do requires an attentiveness and sensitivity of character that is inclusive of everyone in the room. Leone has that sensitivity. This allowed her to develop trusting relationships with both the young people and the Ark-T team. She was really easy to work with due to her easy communication skills and was a natural fit with our philosophy at Ark-T... Leone also brought a lot of fun with her sense of humour, and her acting skills brought something special to these young people. I happily recommend you work with Leone. She's great!
Su Frizzell (Creative Practitioner and Artist, UK)
I have had the immense pleasure of working with Leone across her 15+ years of working and creating in the industry. She instantly became an actress that I looked up due to her innate talent and skill, as well her profound understanding of what it means to be an artist and storyteller. Leone's hard work, generosity, wonderful tool box of techniques, and beautiful emotional capacity as an actor are the gifts that make her such an incredible teacher of the craft. She offers her students such a unique and fabulous teaching experience and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Stephanie Panozzo (Actress)
Leone has a gentle, playful teaching style that creates a really lovely supportive atmosphere in which to try out new things. Her games and exercises strike a good balance between being clear what is expected, and being open-ended enough that we can each choose which direction we want to explore. Whichever creative choices students make, Leone is always encouraging and has insightful suggestions for how to develop an initial idea further. The classes are structured so that each step feels like a natural and easy progression from the previous exercise, and by the end of the class we've all surprised ourselves with what we were able to create.
